My interest in helping people dates back to taking care of my brother when he would get injured while we were playing. I went to college wanting to become a doctor, and left feeling unsure about the direction Western medicine was headed. I had always been intrigued by the role that food played in our lives, I prided myself on a pretty active lifestyle, and maintained my weekly yoga classes in between courses along with being a college athlete. It wasn’t until I purchased my first meal plan from a fitness program that I realized the path I wanted to pursue. My journey led me to a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine – the place where my unique connection to health and wellness met with the clinical side of helping other people. I have since earned certifications as a Culinary Nutrition Expert and Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist.
I specialize in women’s health because there is so much information out there that I wish I knew when I needed it. There are so many milestones that our bodies go through without much thought or consideration into what it needs to function optimally. After having 2 children, I didn’t give my body what it needed to recover and I ended up having 2 miscarriages in one year. It is my goal to make sure your body has everything it needs to prepare for pregnancy, sustain pregnancy, and recover postpartum.
These are all major events in our lives, and they should be shared openly, without judgement and with acceptance. I’m here to help you through each step by giving you as much knowledge as I can on how to support your changing body with food, lifestyle and mindfulness modifications to nurture and connect with your body.
